ABOUT
My name is Andrew Dahling. I am a New York City based multi-media creative. I specialize in makeup artistry and have over 7 years of experience growing, learning, and creating in the industry. My work speaks to the depth of my creative heart, I have always loved to push the boundaries of what makeup is defined as.
I would describe my artistry as bombastic, eccentric, instantly recognizable. Unmistakably original, my work is a reflection of my colorful psyche. My interpretation of beauty is detached from any quantifiable reality, any gender, any outdated standard.

My career began studying under makeup legend Kabuki as his assistant for 3 years, gaining invaluable wisdom and inspiration while on set with the likes of Steven Klein, Linda Evangelista, Grimes, Moschino, ect.
I was ultimately lead to becoming an artist for NY and Milan fashion week and have worked for brands like Moschino, Vogue World, AREA, Christopher John Rogers, LUAR, DIESEL, etc..
I have worked for nightlife queen Sussane Bartsch for over 2 years now as her personal makeup artist and club kid. Bartschland became a stage for me to display these visions of grandeur freely, and live as the fullest expression of my colorful creative spirit.

2024 has been the most exciting year for my career as a makeup artist. I have done several music videos with Jazelle (uglyworldwide) and her band The Bad Manners, Aliyah's Interlude, and Piano Micah styled by Nicola Nicola Formichetti. My most well known feat has been becoming Chappell Roan's makeup artist. Designing looks for her is the most rewarding opportunity as an artist of my unique expression and has opened up so many minds to the world of hyper pop maximalist glitz and glam that I live for!

Makeup is about telling a story, makeup is a medium that provokes emotion, that teleports the senses, it’s a way to become the fantasy that lies in desire. It is armor it is regalia it is expression, and expression is invaluable.
